What does the MBSR Course cover?
It is the gold-standard in mindfulness training, bringing together the internationally recognised Mindfulness-Based-Stress-Reduction (MBSR) programme developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and the Mindfulness-Based-Cognitive-Therapy (MBCT) programme later adapted by Williams and others.
Participants learn to notice their automatic, habitual and unhelpful reactions; simultaneously hold and relate to thoughts and emotions less judgmentally. The course gives a practical and experiential introduction to a range of Mindfulness practices.

“I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed and benefited from your recent Mindfulness course. I could really tell that you “walk the talk” and that comes across in your presence. Is there research evidence to support this Mindfulness Course?
This programme accounts for most of the empirical evidence which has grown up around mindfulness in recent years.
“I just feel the way that the course has been put together is beautiful and very sensitive – awakening all sorts of amazing things in us all. Every aspect of the program was just so nurturing for me and I felt so enriched by coming. Also, anytime I mentioned my struggles with the practice Joanne was so attentive and so great at helping me unravel what the problem actually was. I just want to do more!”
Background to Mindfulness-Based-Stress-Reduction (MBSR)
The practice of Mindfulness is two and a half thousand years old. It originated in Buddhism as a practical way to alleviate self induced suffering caused by the dysfunctional ways we tend to routinely deal with experience. In the late 70s, Jon Kabat-Zinn developed the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course by adapting this practice for a secular and scientific context. So, it is a totally practical course requiring no allegiance to any belief system. Vast scientific research shows huge benefits in a diversity of contexts, such as physical and mental health, business, education, sports etc.
