About the instructor

Joanne O'Malley_Mindfulness_at_workJoanne O’Malley,  BSocSc, H Dip Psychotherapy Studies brings over 17 years of meditation practice to her work, along with diverse and lengthy experience at management level in the corporate sector. This background provided the impetus for her to set up Mindfulness at Work where she witnessed first-hand how colleagues who worked endless hours, often in a state of agitation and ‘partial attention’ were not productive or creative overall nor capable of managing themselves or leading their teams skillfully.

She gained the Certificate of Competence to Teach Mindfulness-Based Courses from the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice (Bangor University), the Institute for Mindfulness Based Approaches Europe (IMA) and the University of California San Diego, USA. She has taught over 50 Mindfulness Courses to the general public and delivered a wide range of Mindfulness Trainings to many organisations (see Client Feedback). Joanne continues to attend ongoing professional development and has trained directly with Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute (SIYLI), The Mindful Leadership Summit, Eckhart Tolle, James Baraz and many more. She adheres to the Good Practice Guidelines set out by UK Network of Mindfulness Teachers, such as daily practice, supervision and regular attendance at retreats.
