Awhile ago, I wrote a blog 10 Tips for bringing Mindfulness into your work day but today I want to make it even easier. These are 3 simply powerful, easy to use tools for integrating Mindfulness into your workday. Why not try them out yourself this week to see how it goes? Notice what a difference it makes?

3 Simple Ways to be Mindful at Work3 simple ways to be Mindful at Work

1. Be intentional.

Start the day by planning, prioritising, scheduling of important v urgent activities. Make decisions and optimise the 80 / 20 rule (80% of outcomes result from 20% of all inputs; so it is vital that you identify what is most important and make that the priority everyday). Remember to be in charge of technology rather than reacting to it all day. Turn off notifications where you can and plan how best to deal with email, phone, texts.

2. Pause and connect with your breathing often.

Between finishing one activity and starting the next is a good habit. Especially, when you feel under pressure or overwhelmed. Moving your full attention to noticing a few breaths reverses the stress cycle. You slow your heart rate, you lower your blood pressure and your levels of cortisol & adrenaline drop.

3. Listen mindfully.

In meetings and when communicating with others, really listen and give your full attention… not just to the words but the tone of voice, body language, maybe to what is not being said. Notice your tendency to make judgments and run a commentary and see if you can stay open and curious.

These 3 TIPS can change your whole day … Why not try them?
